Sustainability
For Upala Agrícola, commitment to the environment is a priority that is embraced with responsibility alongside our production. Continuous effort in this area has allowed Upala Agrícola to stand out both nationally and beyond our borders.
This section briefly describes the main environmental efforts that allow for the outstanding fulfillment, in this section alone, of 12 of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
SURFACE WATER MONITORING
Physico-chemical analyses are carried out to verify the correct application of the technological package, which allows for monitoring and control over agrochemical applications in order to prevent impacts on water bodies and the community.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Proper waste classification, separation, and collection are carried out in the different areas. Providing appropriate waste management according to its type, generating environmental awareness and reducing generating sources.
BLUE FLAG PROGRAM
We hold the blue flag in the biodiversity category and the Agricultural category, highlighting the efforts made by Upala Agrícola in the conservation of forest, soil, and water resources, and promoting the creation of a culture of resource optimization within the company.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Through visits to schools and colleges on topics of waste management and biodiversity conservation, valuable information is shared with future generations to generate environmental awareness and sustainable practices in favor of society.
BIODIVERSITY PROMOTION
Work is done through the Nursery, afforestation and reforestation, and restoration of biological corridors. Through biological corridor connectivity, tree donations to environmental projects, watershed conservation, forest cover, water resource protection, and flora and fauna inventory.
HYDRATION AND SHADE PROTOCOL
Through medical checks, acclimatization, shade and rest areas, and distribution of drinking water and electrolytes, we reaffirm our commitment to our agricultural personnel, guaranteeing health and safety, and providing a suitable environment for performing their tasks.
SAFE MOBILITY PROGRAM
A strategy focused on the reduction of road accidents, promotion of road awareness, proper driving behaviors, and the generation of knowledge focused on safe mobility is employed.
AGROCHEMICAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
The health of individuals in tasks exposed to agrochemicals is guaranteed through proper conditions and knowledge in risk identification and mitigation, as well as periodic medical check-ups scheduled quarterly.
