This commitment has earned us verifications such as SMETA and awards in the Blue Flag program (Agricultural and Biodiversity categories). We also hold certifications including BASC, Esencial Costa Rica, GGN, BRC, and Sustainably Grown, with special recognition for regenerative agriculture, worker empowerment, and biodiversity advocacy.

What is the "esencial COSTA RICA" Brand? It is a strategy to position and capitalize on Costa Rica's reputation in the international market, highlighting values like excellence and sustainability.

Upala Agrícola has created its own flagship brand, Upala Gold. We take great pride in this brand as it allows us to represent our local canton’s name in over 26 different countries where our produce is distributed.

Specifically, the pineapple variety produced at Upala Agrícola is the MD2 Gold (or Golden Pineapple),, It is renowned for its exceptional flavor, vibrant color, and the signature freshness unique to our region.
