At Upala Agrícola, environmental commitment is a top priority managed with the same responsibility as our production. Our continuous efforts in this area have allowed Upala Agrícola to stand out both nationally and internationally.
This section briefly outlines our primary environmental efforts, which enable us to exceptionally fulfill 12 of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in this area alone.
Waste Management
Proper classification, separation, and collection of waste are carried out across all areas. By ensuring appropriate management based on waste type, we foster environmental awareness and reduce waste at the source.
Blue Flag Program
We hold the Blue Flag award in both the Biodiversity and Agricultural categories. This highlights Upala Agrícola's efforts in forest, soil, and water resource conservation, while promoting a culture of resource optimization within the company.
Environmental Education
Through visits to schools and colleges, we share valuable information on waste management and biodiversity conservation with future generations to build environmental awareness and sustainable practices for the benefit of society.
Biodiversity Promotion
We work through our corporate nursery, afforestation, reforestation, and the restoration of biological corridors. This includes biological connectivity, tree donations for environmental projects, watershed conservation, forest cover protection, water resource management, and flora and fauna inventories.
Hydration and Shade Protocol
Through medical check-ups, acclimatization processes, designated shade and rest areas, and the distribution of potable water and electrolytes, we reaffirm our commitment to our agricultural staff. We guarantee health and safety by providing a proper environment for their daily tasks.
